Round 4 begins on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m. EST, and the track is a doozie! It’s the most technical tournament track so far, and there will be a bunch of different lines players can try.

@Coley1x Kenny said they planned on doing a couple outdoors out west. That doesn’t mean that Hanny will be racing those. Hanny’s not a fan of outdoors, he is too lazy to work that hard. I do owe him a apology because I said he would quit the team before they left the west coast. I would have bet my last dollar on that, so I will say it now, Hanny you are KICKING A$$ so far and your riding smooth and clean (not dirty like normal) and your getting better each race. Good luck Hanson, your doing a great job.

Seely to Fill-in for Canard

Posted by adrenalinemx on February 22, 2012

Torrance, CA: Team Honda Muscle Milk announces today that current Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda Supercross Lites rider Cole Seely will fill in for injured Team Honda Muscle Milk rider Trey Canard at select Supercross races beginning with the coming Atlanta round next weekend.

Seely started the 2012 Lites West title chase with a bang, scoring a win in the opening round at Anaheim 1. The 21-year-old from Newbury Park, CA, added a pair of seconds to that win so far this season and is currently third overall in the championship as the Lites West series takes a nine week break.

“Cole proved last year that he has what it takes to run in the Supercross class,” said Team Honda Muscle Milk Manager Erik Kehoe. “He’s a hard-charger, and a good fit for the team. It’s a great opportunity for Cole to showcase his capability on the CRF450R, while maintaining his competitive skills during the break. I want to thank everyone at the Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda team and all their sponsors for allowing Cole the opportunity to race a factory Honda for Team Honda Muscle Milk.”

Official PR: Reed out for Supercross

Posted by adrenalinemx on February 21, 2012

Carlsbad, California – In a devastating blow for TwoTwo Motorsports Chad Reed, injuries sustained at last weekend’s Dallas round of the AMA Supercross, have forced him to retire from the remainder of the 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship.

Reed suffered a horrific crash while challenging for the race lead on Lap 7 and was unable to finish the race.

Initial scans have revealed the Australian has torn his anterior cruciate ligament, broken his tibia and fibula, sustained two broken ribs and has a broken T6 vertebrae.

At this point in time doctors are waiting for the swelling on his knee to subside before they conduct surgery.

“To say I am hurting right now would be a major understatement,” Reed said. “I am just trying to figure out what hurts more, the injuries or the fact that I am going to be out for a while with knee surgery.

“This is bitterly disappointing, I felt like I had everything in my corner this time. I’ve never felt more comfortable, from the bike and team to my riding.

“I was genuinely in a position to fight for race wins week in week out and expected to be going to Las Vegas for a shot at the title.

“To my sponsors and fans thank-you for your messages of support, they mean a lot.  This is a difficult time,” Reed added.

The TwoTwo Motorsports team and sponsors will regroup over the next week and formulate a plan to move forward.

Reed is aiming to return for the outdoor season but that goal will be re-evaluated by doctors post surgery.

Chad Reed and TwoTwo Motorsports are proudly supported by Bel-Ray, Honda Motorcycles, Shift, Etnies, Skullcandy, Fox, Pro Circuit, Factory Effex, Specialized, Showa, Dunlop, Renthal, America’s Tire.com, Discount Tire.com, DT1 Airfilters, D.I.D, Hinson Clutches, VP Race Fuels, Matrix, JStar Motors, Dubya and Mechanixwear.

Desalle and Tonus Take Victory in Valence

Posted by adrenalinemx on February 20, 2012

Clément Desalle and Arnaud Tonus both dominate the International Motocross of Valence, where they already won last year. The main opponent were the French riders, in the MX1 class with Gautier Paulin and Steven Frossard who finished second and third as well as in the MX2 class with Valentin Teillet runner-up.

Tonus dominates the MX2 class

For the first time in his young career, Arnaud Tonus stays in the same team this year and didn’t need any time to get used to his Monster Dixon Yamaha. It’s Valentin Teillet who got twice the holeshot, but Arnaud was faster and got the lead after a few laps in each race to win the two MX2 heats. Teillet was a strong contender, but the French kid suffered from his arms and just secured three good results to finish second for his first race with Bud Kawasaki. Jake Nicholls won the battle for the last step of the podium, as the Brit – now member of Jacky Martens squad – posted a third and a fourth position in the MX2 races, and then finished second MX2 rider behind Tonus in the super final. Fourth and seventh Alessandro Lupino finished fourth, followed by Harri Kullas, Valentin Guillod and Antoine Meo. The enduro champion was amazing for his come back on a motocross track, as he got twice a top ten result – seventh and tenth – with a 125 KTM two stroke. Christophe Charlier was fast on his Rinaldi Yamaha, with a second position in race two, but unlucky with some troubles at the start of the opening race and a crash in the super final.

Desalle impressive

For his comeback after his shoulder injuries, Clément Desalle was impressive as the Belgian dominates the three races! “I just did my races at my own rhythm and didn’t look so much to my rivals” explained Clément on the podium “but I had a good feeling with my Suzuki and with the track. I was back on my bike late in December, and it was great to be again riding after four long months at home. I’m happy with this win, but I know that there’s still a long way before the first GP”. Clément was not always leading his rivals at the start, but he did three perfect races and didn’t do any mistakes. Steven Frossard was one more a strong rival, but the Frenchmen did a couple of mistakes – he stalled the engine in the first race, and crashed in the last lap of the second heat – and suffered from some arm pumped for this first event of the season. He finishes third overall, behind Gautier Paulin who did three consistent races despite a very bad start in the opening moto. Coming back four, and then twice on the podium, Paulin confirmed his ability on a 450; his teammate Xavier Boog crashed in the first race, but then secured good results to finish fourth. Podium contender before the super final, with a second and a fourth position in the MX1 heats, Tanel Leok lost his chances at the start of the last race when he stays behind the grid.

Cairoli Stars in Mantova

Posted by adrenalinemx on February 20, 2012

World MX1 champion Tony Cairoli took his factory 350 KTM to overall victory in Sunday’s Mantova Startcross international in Italy, but only won one of the three races. Jeffrey Herlings and Evgeny Bobryshev also won a race each.

In a three-race format that saw MX2 and MX1 bikes mixed in together, Cairoli romped to a first race win from 250F man Herlings who passed ex world champ David Philippaerts for second.

The Italian was then demoted a further place on the opening lap by Russian factory Honda rider Bobryshev who said he had arm pump in the rough, sandy conditions.

Race two saw Herlings clear off to an easy win after Cairoli was left mid-pack after a first corner clash. Much to the delight of the 5000-strong crowd, he pulled back through to second place after demoting Philippaerts. Bobryshev crashed, remounted then later stalled.

The final race was the best, as Cairoli pulled the holeshot but was hounded all the way by Bobryshev. The pair stayed locked together for the whole race, but with two laps to go Bobby put his all-new factory Honda in front and Cairoli had no answer. But his overall win was guaranteed. Herlings rode a lonely race to third place after passing fast-starting Marc De Reuver.

Cairoli took the MX1 overall from Philipparts and Bobryshev. The MX2 overall was totally dominated by the factory KTM team with Herlings best, followed by Jeremy Van Horebeek and Jordi Tixier.
